Communicating with Staff and Families
Outline — content pending
This page is structured but not yet written. The SRSS implementation guide does not cover FOCUS, so the mechanics below need to be confirmed with the FOCUS product owner before this page is published.
Overview
FOCUS involves more audiences than SRSS-IE: proctors who run sessions, and families who should know a self-report screener is happening.
The Communication Sequence
A table of each message, when it goes out, and its purpose.
Staff Heads-Up
Telling building leaders and proctors what is coming.
Proctor Instructions
The operational email: when sessions run, how students get in, what to do about absences.
Family Notification
What families are told before a self-report screener, and how far in advance.
Mid-Window Reminders
Following up with classes or buildings that have not completed.
Open Questions
- Who sends FOCUS communications — district IT, as with SRSS, or building leadership?
- Does Standard Education provide templates for the proctor and family messages?
- What is the recommended lead time for family notification?
