Navigating the Portal
Understanding the Sidebar
The left sidebar is your main navigation tool in Standard Education. It displays the dashboards and tools available to you based on your role and district configuration.
Dashboard categories—such as Attendance, Demographics, SRSS, and others—are organized in the sidebar. You can click any category to expand it and see the individual dashboards within. The dashboards you see depend on what data your district has configured and which access level your role grants you.
Dashboard Access Levels
Standard Education organizes dashboards into three tiers based on the scope of data they display:
District-level dashboards show data across all schools in your district. District leadership and administrators typically have access to these views.
School-level dashboards show data for a single school. Building administrators and school staff access these dashboards. You may need to select your school from a dropdown or filter to view the relevant data.
Teacher-level dashboards show data for a specific teacher's students. Teachers use these dashboards to monitor their classroom.
Your role determines which tiers you can access. District administrators see all three levels. School-level users see school and teacher dashboards. Teachers see their own classroom data.
Selecting Your Context
If you have access to multiple schools, you may need to select a school from a dropdown or filter before viewing school-specific data.
Dashboard filters appear at the top of each dashboard and let you narrow data by school, grade, year, and other dimensions. Your filter selections persist as you navigate between dashboard views within the same category.
Key Areas of the Portal
Dashboards are the core of the platform. Each dashboard contains interactive charts, tables, and visualizations of your district's data organized by topic.
SRSS/Screening provides access to the Student Risk Screening Scale and other screening tools. Teachers complete screenings in this area, while administrators review and analyze screening results.
Student Search lets you find individual students by student number, school, or grade and access their full profile, including demographic information and assessment history.
Assessments is where administrators upload and manage assessment data files. Teachers and other users view results on the relevant dashboards.
Getting Started: First Steps
Start with a district-level dashboard like Demographics or Attendance to get an overview of your district's data.
Use the filters at the top of each dashboard to drill down to a specific school, grade, or date range.
Click on a student's name or number in any table to navigate to their full student profile, which includes additional details and historical data.
Bookmark the dashboards you use most frequently in your browser for quick access.
If a dashboard appears empty or shows no data, check the filters at the top of the page. A school, year, or term filter may need to be adjusted to match your data.
The dashboards and tools you see depend on your role and what data your district has configured. If you're missing something you expect to see, contact your Standard Education representative.
Current Limitations
There is currently no in-app search across all dashboards. Use the sidebar categories to navigate to the dashboards you need.
Student search works by student number, school, and grade. Name-based search is not yet available on all dashboards.
The portal is optimized for desktop browsers. Mobile access works, but the dashboard experience is best on larger screens.
