Student View

Overview

The Student View is your "whole child" profile. It brings together all available data for a single student in one place, so counselors, social workers, and administrators can see the full picture without switching between systems.

Instead of searching through multiple dashboards or systems to understand a student's situation, the Student View consolidates demographics, attendance, grades, and screening data into one comprehensive profile. This makes it easier to prepare for intervention meetings, understand attendance patterns, or review academic performance in context.

How to Access

1. Navigate to the Student section of your portal
2. Enter a student number or use the Student Search to find the student
3. The profile loads with all available data for that student

The dashboard displays immediately with the Overview tab active, showing key attendance and enrollment information.

Dashboard Tabs

Overview Tab

The Overview tab gives you the big picture at a glance.

What you'll see:

• Student name, current grade, and current school enrollment — Basic identifying information and current placement
• Absences breakdown — A bar chart showing absences by category (excused, unexcused, and other)
• Attendance Risk indicator — A visual flag showing whether the student is at High, Moderate, or Low attendance risk based on their absence percentage
• Last Updated timestamp — When the data was most recently refreshed

This tab is your starting point for quickly assessing a student's status before diving into detailed information.

Grades/Transcripts Tab

Review academic performance across subjects and time periods.

What you'll see:

• Grades table — Current and historical grade information, organized by subject
• Historical grade trends to understand whether performance is improving or declining

Use this tab when you need to understand a student's academic performance or prepare for conversations about academic progress.

Attendance/Behavior Tab

Drill down into attendance patterns and behavior incidents.

What you'll see:

• Chronically Absent flag — Yes/No indicator showing whether the student meets your district's chronic absenteeism threshold
• Percent Absent — The student's absence rate displayed as a percentage
• Total Days Absent — Total count of absence days
• Absences breakdown chart — Detailed view of absence categories
• Behavior incidents — (When available in your district) Includes incident type, date, and resolution details

Filters

Customize the view to focus on specific students or time periods.

Available filters:

• Student Number — The primary way to look up a specific student. Enter the student's ID to load their profile
• Teacher — Filter by teacher name to see students assigned to a particular educator
• Year — Select the school year to view data for a specific academic year

Apply filters to narrow your view, or clear them to see all available data.

Use Cases

For Counselors

Review a student's complete profile before an intervention meeting. See attendance patterns, grades, and risk flags in one place to prepare targeted conversations.

For Social Workers

Check attendance patterns and behavioral context for students you're supporting. Understand whether a student's situation involves attendance, academics, behavior, or a combination of factors.

For Administrators

Review a student's academic and attendance picture when following up on concerns or preparing for parent conferences. See which data points are driving intervention recommendations.

For Teachers

Understand a student's full profile beyond your classroom. See whether attendance or behavior issues outside your class might be affecting performance in your course.

Current Limitations

Student lookup — Currently uses student number only. Name-based search is planned for a future update. If you don't have the student number available, check with your school's registration office.

Behavior data availability — Behavior incident data is not yet available in all districts. If your district's behavior data has been connected, you'll see incident details on the Attendance/Behavior tab. If you believe behavior data should be available and isn't showing, contact your district administrator.
